Poggio Corbolone is the northernmost of the hills that make up the Livorno hills and despite its modest height (267 m) it is clearly visible in the landscape. There are two disused quarries on the slopes.
Today, the hill is often subject to excursions by the C.A.I. of Livorno, through a path that reaches a talc quarry, at 190 meters. From there, following the ridge path, it is possible to quickly reach the hermitage of Sambuca, located in the valley of the Torrente Ugione.
Note on the mineral list: Bonifazi (2020) reports: "One can add that, at Corbolone, radiating aggregates were found that can probably be attributed to a mineral similar to natrolite and mesolite. The small quantity of the material however did not allow for the definitive attribution to either of these species."
