In addition to the extensively exposed Holocene strata, the other rocks in the area include the Xilin hot complex, quartz diorite, cryptoexplosive breccia and buried quartz porphyry. The Xilin hot complex is a combination of brown amphibole–plagioclase and biotite–plagioclase gneiss, both intensely metamorphosed and deformed.
The deposit contains a total resource/reserve of 34.75 Mt of ore, with 90,000 t of SnO2 at an average grade of 0.85 %, 688,300 t of Li2O at an average grade of 1.25 %, 369,700 t of Rb2O at an average grade of 0.35 %, and 2 Mt of Pb + Zn + Cu. Orebodies within the Weilasituo deposit have been subdivided into three types based on textural relationships and metal contents: (i) disseminated Sn–Rb–Zn orebodies in the upper portion of the porphyry; (ii) breccia-hosted Li–Rb orebodies in the cryptoexplosive breccia above the porphyry; and (iii) quartz vein-hosted Sn orebodies within cracks and faults in the upper and outer portions of the porphyry.
Two mines, one copper-zinc and a tin polymetallic mine.
