Small river crosscut next to a sequence of rocks (from W to E): basalts, granites, aluminous mica shists, hyperbasites, mica shists, basalts. River located between two villages Qurah on South and Agoda on North in western Welega province. Citizens of these villages exploring some gold placers along the middle part of this river.

Formerly in Wallaga (Welega; Wollega; Ouallega) Province.

From 10 g of gold concentrate from Tumet I selected 9 grains of PGM minerals. Most of them belonged to the Os-Ir-Ru ternary system - native iridium, osmium and ruthenium according to current nomenclature. Only two grains had contained Pt minerals with minor inclusions of isoferroplatinum and sperrylite. Also one grain of irarsite was identified. In the local gold market in the village of Qurah I saw about 15 g gold concentrate that contained about two dozen mirror bright hexagonal crystals of Os-Ir-Ru minerals up to 1-1.5 mm in association with some bright-green chrome silicates. The source of PGM minerals in the placers of the Tumet river is a serpentinitized dunite body which has a significant chromite content.
