Granite pegmatite dike. Concession B, Lot 5
"The deposit was worked for feldspar from 1926 to 1929 by Wanup Feldspar Mines Limited which shipped about 2268 t of feldspar. It was the largest feldspar operation in the district. The open-pit measures 46 m by 15 m and 9 m deep."
Yellow liquid oil and nodules of hardened oil were reported to occur in fracture zones in the pegmatite.
31/05/2020 Site Visit Lloyd Van Duzen.
Access granted from property owner. Besner family farm. There are two Besner properties to cross to access the site. The pit is located just on the east side of the hydro tower line. A dirt road leads through the besner properties to the bottom of the hill at the tower line where a old abandoned house is located. A atv trail leads up hill to the south and the pit is aproximately 350m from this point.
