The Chief lithium pegmatite is located about 1 mi north of the Devils Hole pegmatite, in SE 1/4 sec. 17, T. 18. S., R. 73 W. ("Minerals of Colorado, updated & revised", p. 15, by Eckel, Edwin B., 1997).

The pegmatite is the sole Lithium pegmatite in a large dike swarm.
