Skyttemyr gruve, Bøylestad kobberverk, Froland, Agder, Norge
Cu mine worked by Bøylestad Kobberverk which also worked the Bøylestad Copper Mine . The Skyttemyr copper ore was discovered in 1866 by Simon Jørgensen and Knud Venemyr.
The NGU has registered this locality twice:
NGU Deposit Area 919 - 028 at 58.5637630,8.7010230
But the coordinates do not seem to point to a mine. The NGU probably found more ore at this place.
Another NGU report lists this locality as 919 - 013 at 58,555589091700874,8,693593892294535
These last coordinates correspond with a spot close to the mines.
There are visible signs of mining over a length of at least 545 m, maybe even 658 m when some shallow features turn out to be prospects.
The coordinates are given for somewhere in the middle of the mines.
