The deposit is in the East Kunlun Orogen Belt. The Haidewula volcanic basin is situated in the eastern part of the south EKOB. This basin has an elongated, flat shape, stretching approximately 30 km from east to west and around 7 km from north to south. The Wanbaogou Group on the northern margin of the basin is in fault contact with the Haidewula volcanic basin. Cenozoic red clastic sediments are exposed to the southern side of the Haidewula Basin. The volcanic rocks at Haidewula comprise trachyte, rhyolite, rhyolitic tuffs, welded tuffs, volcanic breccia, and volcanic agglomerates, with an interlayer of 5- to 10-m-thick sandstone and siltstone.
At Haidewula, uranium mineralization has been identified through drill cores and exploratory trenches. Twenty uranium mineralized zones have been recognized, primarily controlled by NE-NNE trending and SE-dipping faults. Each zone extends from 100 to 1300 m in length and 50 to 200 m in width. Average U grades in these zones range from 0.04 to 1.31 wt%, with individual mineralized samples containing up to 10.1 wt% U. Ore bodies exhibit various shapes, including veins, flat lenses, and small lenses, and are hosted within linear crosscutting structures, micro-cracks, cryptoexplosive breccias, and at the contact zones with the host rocks. The uranium minerals in the Haidewula deposit are predominantly veinlets of pitchblende.
