Abandoned feldspar quarry, which was actively exploited in the early years of the 1900s and definitely ceased in 1952, opened in a sub-vertical pegmatite dyke located on the eastern side of Piona Peninsula.

Altitude: 219 metres a.s.l.

The entrance to the underground works is blocked by a landslide and the main gallery is flooded. Minerals are found in the quarry dumps.

This locality is famous for the large crysoberyl crystals (often twinned), which occur with minerals of the primary paragenetic association (almandine, schorl, zircon, uraninite, and rare beryl). An interesting secondary hydrothermal association, consisting of phenakite, bertrandite, secondary beryl, and fluorapatite, has been recently described (Vignola et al., 2015).
