1935-36: Monte Carlo Exploration Gold Mines Limited carried out trenching and diamond drilling in 9 holes.

1950-58: Krefeld Graphite Gold Mines Limited performed ground geophysics and stripping.

1975-76: Airborne geophysics by Rand Reef Mines Limited

The main feature is an east-west trending belt of iron formation at the head of Austin Bay. It ranges in width from 600 to 700 feet and has a length of over one mile.
