Dřínová

Dřínová quarry near Tišnov (Předklášteří-Dřínová quarry), a Chinese quarry on the Dřínová hill.

Quarry within the Moravicum tectonic unit. In the quarry limestones, quartzites and orthogneisses occur. Many calcite-baryte-fluorite dykes cross all these rocks, but the best specimens come from dykes in limestones.

From time to time vugs with calcite crystals could be found, also baryte and fluorite are usually available, though mostly massive. In the upper parts of the quarry, there used to be a lot of vugs with baryte crystals, aragonite and small red ankerite crystals. The upper part of the quarry is now not mined.

There are no problems with entering the quarry, they do not work during weekends and the quarry is not guarded.
