A stone deposit/quarry located in sec. 7, T4N, R11E, MDM, about 5.35 km SSE of Camp Pardee (about 2 miles NE of Valley Springs). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

The rock is a brownish-yellow jasper, some of which has a sub-opaline luster that forms a cap 10 to 12 feet thick, overlying altered serpentine. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.

Production information: 1,500 tons during 1954-1955; modest amount of rock since 1955. Worked intermittently. Finished material was used as roofing granules.
