Volcano Peak is a mountain located in the Silver Island Mountains of Utah, and is an extinct rhyolitic volcano of recent quaternary age (USGS). The locality is known by collectors for its colorful agate, which is found all over the western and northern slopes of the peak. The agate occurs as veins in the rhyolite, and ranges in color from red, brown, white, and tan. This is the locality described in William A. Kappele's book Rockhounding Utah on page 143. The map coordinates are for the parking area where agate can be found by looking on the ground without much effort.
