Quarry of the Holcim (Vorarlberg) GmbH, a cement company.
The company was founded in 1907 under the name 'Vorarlberger Zementwerke Lorüns'.
Since 1998 the quarry is sublet to the company BSL (Brech- und Siebwerke GesmbH & Co KG).

An unusual, very small hydrothermal mineralisation (with electrum, bornite, chalcopyrite, baryte, hematite and other phases), found in a chert layer of Jurassic age (Ältere Allgäuschichten, Pliensbachium), is described in Kolitsch (2015). More finds of similar inconspicuous mineralisations (with rare Se and Te minerals) are reported by Kolitsch (2020).

Known for the occurrence of a large variety of rare fossils.
