Andesite quarry, owned by the Basalt AG and working an intrusion in sediments of the Lower Rotliegend series (Tholey group). The quarry is cut by an E-W trending mylonitized fault zone that is disseminated by quartz-feldspar veins.
Located on the west slope of Großer Horst Mountain near Michelbach, about 3 km north of Schmelz.
