According to Piela (1961), a small quarry in marble, for rip-rap used under the adjacent covered bridge, hosting a chlorite schist layer with nice pyrite crystals measuring up to about 5 cm. Location slightly approximate, reportedly on east side of covered bridge, not obvious on aerial photos and likely reclaimed.
