Amber in grey-greenish calcareous siltites on the left bank of the Ardo stream at Borgo Prà, in the north-west outskirt of the city of Belluno.

The specimens have been collected in debris consisting of Belluno Flysch, that in this area is entirely Cuisian in age (Lower Eocene). Based on infra-red spectroscopical analysis, the fossil resin has been assigned to an Araucariacean source, not recorded during Eocene in the Northern hemisphere; therefore, this amber should be older that Tertiary, suggesting an origin of the material from an older sediment.
