Several spodumene-bearing pegmatites hosted by high-grade metamorphic rocks (Rappold Complex of the Austroalpine Crystalline Unit).

The pegmatites form lenses, sills, and discordant dikes of variable thicknesses of up to 10 m, and can be traced along strike for 650 m at max.

Mali (2004) lists more than 30 different occurrences (either loose boulders or outcrops). Only the most important ones are listed here as sublocalities.
