Lake Keilambete, 2 km in diameter, is a crater lake occupying a circular maar. A basaltic tuff ring surrounds the lake, and on the south-east side there is some quarrying for limestone and tuff.

Keilambete quarry is controlled by W.A. Molan and Sons. It was previously owned and operated by Ian Fenton. It was previously known as Fenton's quarry.

Fossils such as whale vertebrate, sharks teeth and many different types of shells occur in the limestone.
