Located approximately 4kms North-West of Torrington.
Operated as underground workings, shafts, pits and opencut from 1908 to 1944.
Line of old workings on Quartz vein in Granite, worked originally for Wolfram and also reknowned for gem quality Beryl specimens.
Located approximately 4 km North-West of Torrington.
Operated as underground workings, shafts, pits and open cut 1908 to 1944.

Production periods: D. Heffernan (1908-13); J Payten & C Parter (1919-20); Smith (1926); H. Blackman (1944).

In my opinion (keith compton) Beryl specimens labelled as being from Heffernans Mine - particularly those that have been acquired in the last 40 years are most likely to be from this mine and not Heffernans mine.
