The type locality for Nordenskiöldine was a small syenite pegmatite vein on the western side of Arøya found by W.C. Brögger. The pegmatite vein was according to Brögger (1890) worked out ("vollständig abbauen") and just one crystal of nordenskiöldine with some fragments was ever found.
Later, in 1979 Nordenskiöldine was again found, but in another pegmatite vein on the western side of the island by the Norwegian collector H.C. Aadahl, see more info under the locality "Paradisbukta, Arøya"
