Pegmatite vein intruding (ultra)mafic rocks at the Atagoyama quarry, Takanokura, Nakata Town, Koriyama City.
Located about 6km SE of Koriyama station of JR Tohoku line.
Contact metamorphosed ultramafic rocks are observed at the quarry due to the intrusion of Cretaceous granite and its pegmatite veins.
The ultramafic rocks are included as blocks in amphibolite and gneiss along the western margin of the Abukuma metamorphic belt.
