Placer deposits and pegmatites distributed over an extensive area from 25 km north of the town of Ascensión de Guarayos to 8 km south of the town. The pegmatites, of no commercial value, intrude Precambrian gneiss, schists and greenstones. The placer deposits (which might possibly be of economic value for their tin content) are derived from the pegmatites.
