An obsolete term for a melanocratic variety of leucitite largely composed of biotite and clinopyroxene and with subordinate leucite.

Chemically close to lamproites or lamprophyres on the basis of Al₂O₃, TiO₂ and K₂O contents as well as Mg/(Mg+Fe) and (Na+K)/Al ratios, however it is not peralkaline in composition.
